Edwin Brown

Edwin Brown, 70, of 2976 Rock Road died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday in Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus after a short illness.

He was born May 10, 1921, in Chatfield, the son of Harl E. and Vonna Lee Tway Brown, both now deceased.

Mr. Brown retired from Wonder Bread in Mansfield and prior to that he had worked at Floom and Fleck Wholesale Groceries in Tiffin, the Central Fruit and Grocery Co. in Mansfield and A&P Grocery.

He was a member of Teamsters Local 40 in Mansfield and the First United Methodist Church in Shelby.

Surviving are his wife, Faye E. Pinder Brown, whom he married Aug. 13, 1949; a daughter, Medrith L. Brown of Shelby; a sister, Medrith G. James of St. George, Utah; a brother, Harold T. Brown of Sugar Grove; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters: Rosalyn Ronald, Leota Hathorn and Evelyn Lavery.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home and one hour before the funeral service to be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Richard E. Pass, pastor of the First Friends Church of Mansfield, will officiate. Burial will be in Lust Cemetery, Chatfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army and left in care of the funeral home.
