Edward J. Castor

Edward J. Castor, age 69, of SR 39, Shelby, died Tuesday evening at his home after an extended
illness. He was born March 13, 1919, in Lexington, the son of William and Mary (Talhelm) Castor.

He is survived by his wife, Lois (Walker) Castor whom he married on June 11, 1949; 2 sons: Reed, of Columbus, and Mark, of Shelby; 2 grandchildren; 5 sisters: Mrs. Jim (Mary) Rose, Mrs. Edna May Irvin, Mrs. Helena Kanuth and Mrs. Marcia Herbert all of Lexington and Mrs. Robert(Mildred) McEwen of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers.

Mr. Castor was a salesman for the Nabisco Company. After retiring, he was an emplovee of Cornell’s IGA in the produce department. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Shelby where he had taught sunday school for many years and where he was also
on the missions committee. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Robert L. Castor post of the V.F.W. in Lexington and the 101st Airborne Association.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the Turner Funeral Home with his pastor the Rev. Dr. Carl G. Beighley, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial expressions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Mansfield General Hospice Program or the American Cancer Society.
