Edna L. (Richardson) Barber
Edna L. Barber, age 79, of 4432 Settlement East Road, Shelby, died, early Thursday morning in Mansfield General Hospital after a short illness. She was born April 30, 1916 in Marion, Ohio the daughter of Orien and Louisa (Harman) Richardson.
Mrs. Barber was a former employee of the Shelby Salesbook and retired as a cook from the Shelby City Schools. She was an active member of the First Christian Church. She was a 1934 graduate of Marion Harding High School.
As a dedicated mother, she was a 4-H advisor, Cub Scout volunteer leader, and a homeroom mother.
Mrs. Barber is survived by her husband, Claud Barber, whom she married on December 21, 1940; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Rebecca Barber of Shelby; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Ken Jones of Shennandoah, and Brenda and Larry Dininger of Mansfield; 4 grandchildren, Dawn Barber, Kurt Barber, Sara Dininger, Kristin Dininger.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Trent Barber in 1987; and by 4 sisters, Elsie Owens, Helen Fowler, Virgie Owens, and Irene Minyoung.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. by Pastor Randy Vandemark, of the First Alliance Church in Mansfield. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
