Douglas Wesley Estep

Douglas Wesley Estep, age 37, of 98 Auburn Avenue, Shelby, died Wednesday , November 9, in the Portage River South of Port Clinton as the result of a boating accident.

He was born September 10, 1957 in Mansfield.

Mr. Estep was a former employee of the Mansfield Foundry, Kelsey-Hayes in Fremont, and the Ashland Casting Corp. in Ashland. He was a member of the Fremont Moose, the Shelby Eagles, and a lifetime member of the North American Fishing Club . He was a 1976 graduate of Crestview High School.

Mr. Estep is survived by his wife, Peggy (Wenning) Estep, whom he married on October 13, 1990; 1 son, Douglas Estep, Jr. at home.; 1 daughter , Heather Marie Estep of Mansfield; 1 step son and his wife, Susan and Marvin L. Jose, Jr. of Shelby; 1 step daughter and her husband, Shannon L. and Jon Foley of Shelby; 4 step grandchildren; his father and step mother, Carl D. and Judy Estep of Mansfield; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Rodney and Tracy Estep of Fort Knox, Kentucky; 1 sister and brother-in-law, Gwen and Mark Gibson of Mansfield; his maternal grandfather, Jesse Hill of Ashland, Kentucky; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Monnie (Hill) Estep in 1983.

Calling hours will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Terry K. Zerby, pastor of the Brookside Baptist Church in Seven Hills, Ohio, officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.
