Douglas Ray Sexton

Douglas Ray Sexton, age 40, of 2860 Clearview Drive, Lexington, Ohio, died June 1, 2002 in Morgan County, Ohio.

He was born August 3, 1961 in Shelby. Doug was a 1979 Graduate of Shelby High School, a 1983 graduate of The Ohio State University and a 1986 graduate of the University of Toledo Law School. He was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Lexington. He enjoyed hunting, camping, reading, golfing, and spending time with his family. He was an avid sports fan.

He is survived by his wife, Lea Ann (McGuire) Sexton, whom he married on September 7, 1991; a son: Jacob Sexton, who was the light of Doug’s life; mother and step-father: Glenda and Carl Selbo of Shelby; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law: Jeaneen and Dale Perry of Shelby, Rayanne and Jason Hammond of Lakeland, FL; Dawn and Matt Kinnard of Willard; sister-in- law: Saunie Risinger of Mansfield; brother-in-law: Larry McGuire, Jr. of Mansfield; step-mother: Debbie Keinath of Shelby; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Larry and Margaret McGuire of Mansfield; 2 nieces, and 3 nephews: Cassandra and Josh Perry of Shelby, Molly Hammond of Lakeland, FL, Clay and Cody Risinger of Mansfield.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Sexton in 1998.

Private graveside services will be held in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, at the Stiving Road Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Monty Perry officiating. Memorial expressions may be made for a college trust fund for his son Jacob. The Turner Funeral Home in Shelby is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
