Dorothy P. (Stimpert) Grauer

Dorothy P. Grauer, age 81, of Ganges East Road, Shiloh, died Sunday evening, June 11, 2006 in Med Central Mansfield Hospital after a short illness.
She was born September 7, 1924 in Richland County, Ohio the daughter of the late Frank and Hazel (Boals) Stimpert. Dorothy was graduated from Union Local High School and was a homemaker. She was employed as a secretary at Empire Steel Company in Mansfield for 18 years. She had attended First United Methodist Church in Shelby. She was a member of the Rome Country Club, McDonald’s Breakfast Bunch, and the Richland County Farm Bureau. Dorothy enjoyed the time she spent playing cards with her friends once a month. She was active in wood carving and rug hooking. She took pleasure in cooking and gardening, especially her flowers. However, her greatest joy was spending time attending all the activities of her grandchildren, especially when the children showed their animals at the Richland County Fair.
Dorothy is survived by her children and their spouses, Sara and Jim Sloan of Shelby and David and Tammy Grauer of Shiloh; 7 grandchildren, Kara, Michael and Andrew Sloan; John, Zachary, Samuel, and Lucas Grauer; a sister, Mary (Howard) Miller of Ashland and a brother, Larry (Pat) Stimpert of Ashland; Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emery John Grauer in 1997, by a brother, Edwin Stimpert, and a sister, Violet Lehman.
Friends may call on Wednesday, June 14, 2006, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM where funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10:30 AM with Rev. David Carter, Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to Crestview FFA Alumni Living Legacy Fund.
