Dorothy M. (Beatty) Lantz Davis
Dorothy M. Davis, age 89, formerly of West Main Street Road, Shelby, died Friday, July 28, 2006 at the Crestwood Care Center after long illness.
Dorothy was born March 17, 1917 in Indiana, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late William C. and Margaret E. (Rupert) Beatty. Dorothy and her first husband, George Lantz, farmed in Richland County on the family farm for 31 years. After his death, she worked for Cornell’s IGA. On June 15, 1972, she married Jack K. Davis. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Shelby.
Dorothy is survived by a step daughter, Patti Davis of Pataskala; a brother and his wife, Robert and Edna Kepple of Mansfield; a sister, Dixie Walter of Mansfield; Numerous nieces and nephews along with wonderful neighbors and friends. She was preceded in death by her father William C. Beatty; her mother and step father, Margaret and Earl Kepple; 1st husband, George Lantz in 1971; 2nd husband, Jack K. Davis in 2002; 2 brothers, Edward T. Beatty in 1978, William Kepple in 2001; a sister, Virginia Nivens in 1992; and a brother-in-law, Richard E. Walter, Sr. in 1998.
Friends may call on Monday July 31, 2006 from 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 2 PM with Rev. Steven C. Bond officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Memorial expressions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
Dorothy was very appreciative of the love and care given to her by her family, friends and neighbors – especially Dan and Debbie Crum, Tonya Laser.
