Dorothy Jane Wentz

Dorothy Jane Wentz, age 81, formerly of 112 East Main Street in Shelby, died Saturday afternoon in the Crestwood Care Center after an extended illness. She was born June 25, 1912 in Shelby, the daughter of Carl Levi and Ethel Clara (Hershiser) Wentz.

Miss Wentz was a retired cook from the Shelby Public Schools. She was a member of the first Lutheran Church in Shelby, the Union Grange, and the Busy Bee Club.

She is survived by 1 brother and 2 sisters-in-law: G. Willis and Mildred Wentz and Nadine Wentz all of Shelby; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother Levi Hershiser Wentz in 1980.

Calling hours will be on Monday from 3-5 at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby and also 1 hour prior to the funeral service which will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with her pastor Rev. Dr. Carl L. Johnson, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.

Memorial expressions may be made to the First Lutheran Church and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby.
