Dorothy (Albert) Heiland-Walker
Dorothy Heiland-Walker, age 68, of 3207 Hummel Road, Shelby died Friday morning at her home after an extended illness.
She was born December 20, 1926 in Shelby , the daughter of William Charles and Loretta Grace (Sifferlin) Albert.
She retired in 1991 from Shelby City Schools where she worked in the food service department. She had also worked at Friebel’s Greenhouse in Shelby for many years.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Of Jesus Catholic Church in Bethlehem Shelby Settlement, and the Altar and Rosary Society at Church. She was a 1945 graduate of Shelby High School.
She is survived by 1 daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Ernest Sherk of Shelby; 1 son and daughter-in-law, William and Amy Heiland of Shelby; 6 grandchildren: Jedd, Jay, and Joe Heiland, Angie, Christopher and Scott Sherk; 1 sister and brother-in-law, Berniece “Mick” and Richard Friebel of Shelby; 4 sisters-in-law, Helene Albert, Jean Spangler , Delores Biglin, and Mary Ann Dick all of Shelby; 5 step children.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Heiland in 1976, her second husband, David F. Walker in 1991 and by 2 brothers, Kenneth Albert in 1961 and Paul J. Albert in 1987.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby where a Christian Wake service will be held on Sunday at 8:30 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Gary Walters and Father John Missler, officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Memorial expressions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio or to Sacred Heart Church and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street; Shelby.
