Doris May Dick

Doris May Dick, age 85, a former resident of San Diego, California and a resident of Brethren Care in Ashland for the past year and a half, died Saturday, March 15, 2003 at Samaritan Regional Health System in Ashland after an extended illness.

She was born March 1, 1918 in Shelby, the daughter of the late Oren Ivan and Lottie (May ) Dick. Doris was a 1935 graduate of Shelby High School and a 1940 graduate of The Ohio State University where she received a BS in pharmacy. She was a practicing pharmacist in California the majority of her life. She was a talented artist, an avid reader, and enjoyed gardening and flowers.

Doris is survived by two sisters and spouse: Mildred Wentz of Shelby and Gaylee and Stephen Korbas of Shelby; Nieces and Nephews, Ann Marie and Jim Mulder of Chesapeake Beach, MD, Julie and Dave Noggle of Galion, Greg Korbas of Shelby, and Diana and Dave Kowalka of Ashland; 2 great nephews, Michael and Stephen Noggle. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, G. Willis Wentz.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, March 18, 2003 from 3-5 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, at 11:00 AM with Chaplain Kenny Lindecamp officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
