Dorene L. (Roose) Stentz

Dorene L. Stentz, age 71, of 5170 Champion Road, Shelby, died early Saturday morning in Shelby Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. She was born August 8, 1922 in Willard, the daughter of Arthur and Edna (Yarman) Roose.

Mrs. Stentz was an employee of Paul’s Drive-In in Shelby for many years. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Shelby and was a 1940 graduate of Willard High School.

Mrs. Stentz is survived by her husband, Roland Stentz, whom she married on December 13, 1941; 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Roddy and Mary Ann Stentz and Dane and Theresa Stentz all of Shelby; 1 daughter and son-in-law: Lana and Robert Smith of Flagstaff, Arizona; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons; 5 brothers: Dallas Roose of California, LaMar Roose of Hilliard, Ohio, Warren
Roose of Grove City, Ohio, Marlin Roose of Ashland, and Arlen Roose of Willard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 grandaughter, Lanya Chase; and by 1 sIster, Joyce Frazee.

Private funeral services will be held on Tuesday at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby with her pastor the Rev. Dr. Carl L. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. There will be no calling hours.

Memorial expressions may be made to the American Lung Association and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby.
