Donna M. Dick
Donna M. Dick, age 89, of Shelby, died early Thursday morning, February 14, 2013 at Med Central Shelby Hospital following a short illness.
Donna was born October 2, 1923 in Beaman, Iowa, the daughter of the late Charles and Mae (Kerr) Rowe. Following her graduation from Beaman High School she went to teletypist school and got a job working in Washington D.C. A transfer to Wilkins Air Force Depot brought her to Shelby where she met her husband, the late Edwin K. Dick, and they wed on November 18, 1947. Donna was a member of First United Methodist Church in Shelby.
Donna is survived by one son: Greg Dick, of Shelby; one grandson: Gram Dick; her sister, Theone Hertema, of Iowa; nieces and nephews; special friends: Shirley Brooks and Phyllis Lybarger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Edwin K. Dick in 2000; her son: Randi Dick in 1979; a brother: Gordon Rowe.
Friends are welcome on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 2-5 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 AM. Dick Tomlinson, her nephew, will officiate and burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio.
