Donald L. Lawrence

Donald L. Lawrence, age 76 of 30 East Gaylord, Shelby, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at the Woodlawn Nursing Home in Mansfield.

He was born December 31, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio the son of the late
John and Mae (Peters) Lawrence. Don was a United States Marine serving in World War II. He retired in 1990 from General Motors in Ontario where he had worked as a die maker for 33 ? years. He was a member of the Shelby Masonic Lodge #350 F and AM, Shelby American Legion O’Brien Post #326 and Mansfield Liederkranz. Don especially enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He was an animal lover, and was especially fond of his pet dog Toby.

Don is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Lori Lawrence of St. Louisville, OH; a grandson, Brandon and Tessa Lawrence of Denver, CO; 2 brothers and spouse, Gene and Judy Lawrence of Columbus, OH and Bob and Nancy Lawrence of Grove City, OH; a sister and spouse, Judy and Jim South of East Fultonham, OH; a special friend, Dana Love of Shelby. He was preceded in death by his wife, June C. (Keene) Lawrence in 1987 and by a brother, Norman Lawrence.

Friends may call on Friday, from 7-9 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 PM with Rev. Andrew Angel, chaplain of Southern Care Hospice, officiating. Masonic services will be at 8:45 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Shelby American Legion.
