Donald Francis Fisher
Donald Francis Fisher, 79, of 4066 Hinesville Road, Shelby, died Wednesday afternoon, December 24, 1997, at Med Central Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born June 21, 1918 in Crestline, the son of Ferd and Clara (Frye) Fisher. He was a former employee of Copperweld – Shelby Division, retiring after 44 years of service. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bethlehem, and honorary life member of Shelby Knights of Columbus Council #1968, Shelby Moose Lodge, and A.A.R.P.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice (Miller) Fisher, whom he married on October 6, 1945; 2 sons and 1 daughter-in-law, John Fisher of Shelby and David and Barbara Fisher of Shelby; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Toby Wilcox of Shelby; 5 grandchildren, Brian Wilcox, Kim and Eric White, Mark Fisher, Angie Fisher, Troy Fisher; 1 sister, Mary Karl of New Washington. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Robert Fisher.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby. The Daughters Of Isabella will participate in the parish wake service at 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bethlehem with Father Gary Walters officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church restoration fund or to Shelby Home and Public Health.
