Donald A. Clever

Donald A. Clever, age 70, formerly of 39 East Smiley Gardens and presently of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, died thursday afternoon in Chambersburg Hospital after a long illness. He was born October 17, 1919 in Lexington, Ohio the son of Arthur and Florence (Hoverstick) Clever.

Mr. Clever was the former owner of Rhythm Bowl in Shelby and prior to that had been a farmer. He was an Army veteran of WWII.

Mr. Clever is survived by his wife, Evelyn M. (Weller) Clever, whom he married on June 2, 1941; 2 sons: Dr. Kenneth Clever, D.V.M. of Chambersburg, PA and Gary Clever of Tempe, Arizona; 1 daughter, Mrs. Larry (Kay Ann) Chandler of Caro, Michigan; 8 grandchildren; 2 brothers: William Clever of Florida and Dale Clever of Newark, Ohio; 2 sisters: Mrs. Rex (Martha) Bucher of Mansfield and Norma Jean Conner of Virginia Beach, VA.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-8 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Saturday at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Dave Asp, Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Shelby officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
