Dollie Rose (Swanger) Ludin

Dollie Rose Ludin, 99, formerly of 171 W. Main St., died Wednesday afternoon in the Crestwood Care Center after a short illness. She was born Dec. 15, 1888, in Shiloh, the daughter of Loring and Adeline Parsons Swanger.
Mrs. Ludin is survived by one I daughter, Mrs. Gilbert (Carolyn) Violante of Bethesda, MD; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Martha M. Maier, in 1966.
Mrs. Ludin was a member of the. First Lutheran Church in Shelby and its Dorcas Class, and the Golden Age Club. She was the last surviving member of the Shiloh School’s Class of 1905.
A former student at Ohio Northern University and the College of Wooster, Mrs. Ludin taught in Shiloh area one room schools for several years and later taught at Tiro and at the old Central High School in Shelby. She also served as a nurse’s aide and receptionist at Shelby Memorial Hospital for many years.
Calling hours will be held today from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Turner Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday by the Rev. Lynn T. Williamson, associate pastor of the First
Lutheran Church, Shelby. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh.
