Dearl M. Adams

Dearl M. Adams, 73, of 53 East Smiley Ave, died Sunday morning in Shelby Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was born March 29, 1916, in Johnson County, KY, to Joseph and Betty (Cantrell) Adams, both deceased. Mr. Adams was a nickel plater at Dominion Electric in Mansfield for 21 years and a retired pastor, having served at the Church of God in Lexington and the Baker Road Pentecostal Church in Shelby. He was a member of the Temple of Faith Church. Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Gayheart Adams, whom he married Dec. 10, 1938; a son, Rick of Shelby; a daughter, Kim Keller of Shelby; six grandchildren; four brothers, Lloyd of Columbus, Basie of Ashland, Henry of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Audie of Ashland, KY; two sisters, Viola Armentrout of Ashland and Maxie Cantrell of VanLear, KY. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Ed Gayheart and the Rev. Virgil McClain. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Shelby.
