Dean L. Roth

Dean L. Roth, 72, of 29 Clark Ave. died Saturday afternoon in Crestwood Care Center after a long illness.
Born Aug. 1, 1914, in Shelby, Mr. Roth had lived in Shelby all of his life. He had been a city fireman, retiring in 1975, and had been a former bus driver for Shelby schools. A World War II veteran, Mr. Roth had belonged to the Shiloh American Legion and the Marblehead VFW. He was also a member of the First Christian Church and the Shelby Junior Order.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Worthington Roth, whom he married June 6, 1936; a son: James of Shelby; a daughter: Mrs. Richard (Judy) Messner of Shelby; six grandchildren; and three sisters: Doris Palmer of Savannah, TN, Eva Jane Rousch of Galion, and Margaret Winkle of Northfield, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Wanemeah Denny.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home by his pastor, the Rev. C. Reid Miller. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, New Haven. Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and one hour before Tuesday’s services at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and left at the funeral home.
