Dean Howard Ferrell

Dean Howard Ferrell, age 84 of Taylortown Road, Mansfield, died Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at the Crestwood Care Center in Shelby.
He was born July 25, 1922 in Butler Township, Richland County, Ohio the of the late Rollo and Ozra (Kerr) Ferrell. He was a 1940 graduate of Union High School and was an Army veteran of WWII serving in the Battle Of The Buldge. He was a retired farmer and truck driver. He was a member of Clay Memorial Lutheran Church, Shelby American Legion O’Brien Post #326, Shiloh Masonic Lodge #544 F & AM, The Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America and the Fun Center Chordsmen. He was instrumental in starting the Franklin Township Fire Department. Dean was very proud of his Harley motorcycle. He thoroughly enjoyed the times he and his wife Mildred traveled extensively on his Harley.
Dean is survived by his wife: Mildred (Durant) Kuhn Ferrell; a son and spouse: Allan and Annette Ferrell of Crestline; 3 daughters and spouse: Barbara Jo Dunn of Florida, Jean Ann Ferrell of North Carolina and Linda and John Shuler of North Carolina; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a sister: Glenna Bray of Shiloh; a stepson and spouse: Jeffrey and Karen Kuhn of Mansfield; 2 step granddaughters.
Friends may call on Sunday, October 29, 2006 from 2-5 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where Masonic services will be conducted at 4:45 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, at 10 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Dianna Seaman, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh. Military honors will be conducted at the gravesite by Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. Memorial expressions may be made to Clay Memorial Lutheran Church or to the Fun Center Chordsman.
