David L. Cornett
David L. Cornett, age 38, formerly of Shelby, and a resident of Seattle, Washington for the past ten years, died Saturday morning in Swedish Hospital in Seattle after a short illness. He was born March 20, 1954 in Shelby.
He was a 1972 graduate of Shelby Senior High School, a member of Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church and was a navy veteran.
Mr. Cornett is survived by his parents, Rebel D. and Lucy A. (Sheridan) Cornett of 4 Grove Avenue in Shelby; 2 sisters: Lucinda Fitts of Westland, Michigan and Rebecca Mahl of Willard; 1 brother, Matt Cornett of Shelby; his paternal grandmother, Lydia Castle of Plymouth; aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and 1 great-niece. He was preceded in death by a brother Christopher Cornett in 1977.
Funeral arrangements were handled in Seattle, Washingon. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church with father Timothy M. Downey officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church.
Memorial expressions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home which is in charge of the local arrangements.
