Daisy M. (Stepp) Horn

Daisy M. Horn, 76, of 93 E. Whitney Ave., died Thursday morning at home after a four-month illness. Born May 13, 1909 in Inez, KY, she was the daughter of Judge Henry and Maude (Bradford) Stepp.

She retired from the dietary department of Shelby Memorial Hospital in 1973 after 18 years of service. She was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Shelby, which she helped to found along with her husband, the Rev. Sherlen Horn, in 1952.

She is survived by three sons: Sherlen of Shelby, James of Martin County, KY, and Bob of Palatka, FL; two daughters: Mrs. Bobby (Vella) McClain of Shelby and Mrs. David (Della) Lybarger of Shiloh; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers: Malcom Stepp of Florida, Landon Stepp of Pt. Pleasant, WV, and Granville Stepp of Howell, MI; four sisters: Laura Osepchook of Florida, Evelyn Smith of South Point, Larnie Chaffin of Columbus, and Hattie Kemplin of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 15, 1966; and by two sisters and one

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Monty Perry, her pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Friends may call 3-5 this afternoon and 7-9 tonight at Turner Funeral Home and one hour prior to service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and can be left at the funeral home.
