D. Pearl (McFarland) Barber

D. Pearl Barber, 81, of 76 E. Whitney Ave., died Tuesday morning in Crestwood Care Center after a long illness.
She was born Sept. 7, 1909, in Bath County, KY, to Robert and Mary Ann Tackett McFarland, both now deceased. Mrs. Barber was a homemaker and a member of Stiving Road Freewill Baptist Church, Mansfield.
Surviving are five sons and daughters-in-Iaw: Harley and JoAnn Barber and Robert and Betty Barber, all of Phoenix, AZ, Kenneth and Shirley Barber of Mansfield, Ralph and Carol Barber of Shelby, and Roy and Ruth Ann Barber of Plymouth; two daughters and a son-in-law: Evelyn and Don Betts of Shelby and Alice Hickerson of Racine, WI; 30 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Eldred McFarland of Salt Lick, KY, and Chalmer McFarland of Milford, MI; and four sisters: Grace Johnson and Olive Hay, both of Muncie, IN, and Flora Campbell and Gladys Shrout, both of Miamisburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley P. Barber, in 1983; a son; a daughter; two brothers; and three sisters.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home where services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. J. Malcolm Brook. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
