Cora H. (Handshoe) Conley

Cora H. Conley, 78, of 24 1/2 E. Smiley Ave., died Sunday morning in Shelby Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

Born Dec. 26, 1906 in Knott County, KY, she was the daughter of Wilson and Martha Patton Handshoe.

She retired after 20 years of service as an inspector from the former Standard Tube Company-now Tech Form Industries. She was a member of the United Baptist Chruch in Albion, Michigan.

Surviving are two sons: Robert of Marshall, MI, and Harold of Shelby; one daughter: Mrs. S.T. (Betty) Adkins of Shelby; 20 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren; two brothers: George and Sammie Handshoe, both of Knott County; four sisters: Myrtle Reed and Mrs. Sadie Wheaton, both of Fairborn, Mrs. Jessie (Eva) Summy of Lima, and Mrs. Raymond (Dovie) Gearheart of Floyd County, KY.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie Conley, in 1967; two daughters: Thelma Owens and Gladys Howard; two sons: Garold and Clay Conley; and one granddaughter.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tiro United Baptist Church with Rev. Claude Compton officating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Turner Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Tiro United Baptist Church Building Fund and can be left at the funeral home.
