Clarence Earl Shearer

Clarence Earl Shearer, age 92, of 4220 Weidner Road, Shelby, died Sunday, November 1, 1998 at Med Central Shelby Hospital after a one week illness.
He was born May 4, 1906 in Crestline, Ohio the son of Alvin G. and Mary K. (Smith) Shearer. Mr. Shearer retired in 1971 from Copperweld – Shelby Division after 31 1/2 years of service. Prior to that he had worked at the Pennsylvania Railroad and the Burch Corporation in Crestline. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Shelby. Mr. Shearer enjoyed woodworking, photography, stamp collecting and gardening.
Mr. Shearer is survived by his wife, Florence Edna (Krichbaum) Shearer whom he wed on
May 4, 1927; 1 daughter, Phyllis Hudson-Northcutt of Tucson, Arizona; 2 sons and
1 daughter in-law, C. Aldon and Joyce Shearer of Galion, Ohio and Michael F. Shearer of Shelby; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, John Shearer in 1913 and by a sister, Gladys M. Lahmon.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. June Fryman officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial expressions may be made to the First Lutheran ABC Child Care Program.
