Memories & Condolence

  1. Melanie Tackett says:

Grandma, I have missed you so much throughout my life. You were such a huge part of my life when I was just a little girl. I always knew you loved me so much, and you were the first one to teach me about Jesus and being a Christian. I would have given anything to have more time with you. You could have taught me so much. I wish I would have paid more attention and learned how you made your biscuits and gravy! Because no one ever made them like you did! I have missed you so much in my life, and I can’t wait until I see you again. I will never forget going to Kentucky with you, putting curlers in your hair, painting your fingernails, going to church with you, wearing your shoes, going through your big box of pictures, looking at your Bibles, (I can still picture them in my mind, and the telephone stand where they always sat, with your big black rotary telephone above them.) and walking to your house for lunch every day when I went to Whitney School! And you telling me to get my feet off the Davenport! Sometimes I see a butterfly and I know it’s you. I will meet you at the pearly gates. I hope you’re the first person I see! Love, Mel. ❤️
