Christine R. (Simms) Jones
Christine R. Jones, age 65, of 33 Park Avenue, Shelby, died Saturday morning , August 5, 1995, in Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus after a one month illness. She was born November 24, 1929 in Ansted, West Virginia the daughter of Gilbert and Clara (Ferguson) Simms.
Mrs. Jones was a retired employee of Quanex in Shelby. She was a member of the Shelby American Legion Auxiliary Unit #326.
She is survived by her husband, James M. Jones whom she married on June 6, 1960; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Jack Miller of Mansfield; 2 sons and 1 daughter-in-law, Michael D. and Sharon Harrah of California and Larry Harrah of Mt. Gilead, Ohio; 4 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; 4 sisters, Lorene Bibb and Marie Johnson both of Ansted, West Virginia, Pearl Foster and June Stamper both of Shelby; 4 brothers, Bert Simms of Clendenon, West Virginia, Kenneth Simms of Waukegan, Ill., Basil Simms of Mansfield, and Junior Simms of Shelby. Nieces and nephews including Charlene Phillips of Mt. Gilead.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 3 sister.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Dave Asp, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
Memorial expressions may be made to the American Cancer Society and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby.
