Chester W. Fidler
Chester W. Fidler, 85, of Mansfield, died early Tuesday morning in Mansfield General Hospital after an extended illness.
Born Feb. 4, 1907 in Shiloh, he was the son of Frank and Laura (Kissel) Fidler. He had been a Mansfield resident all his life. He retired from Kingwood Center in Mansfield after 40 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, flea markets, and traveling.
He was a life member of Moose Lodge 3041 in Mansfield.
He is survived by his wife, Christina (Schuff) FIdler, whom he married Dec. 3, 1934; four daughters and sons-in-law: Diane and Kenneth Harmon of Sheffield Lake; Clara and Lawrence Shorter of Shelby; Betty and Ronnie Zera and Anna Mae and Gary Ward, all of
Mansfield; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons: Michael and Chester, Jr.; and one sister, Virgie Racer.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Turner Funeral Home with Pastor Harley A. Holden, of Ganges United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh.
Friends may call 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the Mansfield Moose Lodge 3041 will conduct a service at 8:30 p.m. Memorial expressions may be made to the American Cancer Society’s Mansfield Unit and left in care of the funeral home.
