Charles Venton Foreman
Charles Venton Foreman, age 71, of Hinesville Road, Shelby, died Friday evening in Galion Community Hospital after a short illness. He was born March 27, 1917 in Paragon, KY, the son of S.J. and Sarah (Morris) Foreman.
Mr. Foreman is survived by his wife, Mattie (Caudill) Foreman, whom he married on April 10, 1936; 2 brothers: Alva and Willard Foreman both of Shelby; 2 sisters: Mrs. Irvin (Lola) Zaebst of Shelby and Mrs. Jesse (Florence) Glover of Newark, Ohio. He was preceded in death by 1 brother and 1 sister.
Mr. Foreman was a retired millwright at Fisher-Body in Ontario after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Shelby, the Golden Agers, AARP, Retirees Chapter Local #549, Shelby American Legion O’Brien Post #326, The Shelby V.F. W. George Broderick Post # 291, United Auto Workers Local #549. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the
U .S. Army.
Funeral serives will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Steven Schag, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Calling hours will be today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and left at the funeral home.
