Charles Lawrence “Charlie” Niese
Charles Lawrence “Charlie” Niese, age 17, of 3364 Hinesville Road, Shelby, died Friday morning as the result of an automobile accident in Crawford County. He was born June 16, 1976 in Shelby.
Charlie would have been a junior from Shelby Sr. High School attending Pioneer Joint Vocational School this fall. He was a member of Sacred Heart Of Jesus Catholic Church in Bethlehem,
where he was an altar boy and attended C.C.D. He was a member of the Shelby Sr. High School football team, F.F.A., and 4-H Herdsman Club. Charlie worked on the family farm, loved little children, and spending time with his friends.
Charlie is survived by his parents, Robert C. and Lillian A. (White) Niese; 2 brothers and 1 sister-in-law, Roger and Terri Niese and Kenneth Niese all of Shelby; 1 sister and brother-in-law Kristi and Loren Kranz of Shiloh; 1 niece, Leslie Kranz and 1 nephew Owen Niese. His paternal grandfather, Waldo Niese of Crestline; aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Cecelia (Rieman) Niese and by his maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Ethel (Campbell) White.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from noon to 3:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby where a Christian wake service will be held on Sunday evening at 8:30 P.M. Funeral Mass will be on Monday at 10:00 A.M. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Bethlehem with his pastor Father Gary Walters, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorial expressions may be made to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, or to an agriculture scholarship fund in his memory and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home.
