Charles G. Raiser

Charles G. Raiser, age 86, of Lucasville, Ohio, and formerly of Ganges Five Points Road in Shelby, died Sunday morning at Mansfield General Hospital from injuries received in an automobile accident earlier that day. He was born March 14, 1907 in Bucyrus, Ohio, the son of John Edward and Rosetta (Burkey) Raiser.

Mr. Raiser was a farmer and retired from the Shelby G.A.F. Printing Co. in 1972 and then worked at the Shelby Country Club until the summer of 1992. He was a member of the Ganges Community Church and a former member of the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Dept. which he was active in organizing. He was also a former Franklin Township Trustee.

Mr. Raiser is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law: Lane and Debra Raiser of Lucasville; 1 grandaughter, Tori, of Illinois; and 1 grandson, Tobey, of Illinois; 2 step-daughters: Judy Hedderig of Auburn, Indiana, and Marcia Snyder of Crestline.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by a sister, Harriet Martin; his first wife, Mildred (Light) Raiser in 1977; and his second wife Bernice (Laser) France Raiser in 1992.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 A.M. at the Ganges Community Church with his pastor Rev. Harley A. Holden, officiating. Burial will be in Adams Cemetery on Bowman Street Road.

Memorial expressions may be made to the Ganges Community Church and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home.
