Catherine (Fadell) John

Catherine John, 91, formerly of Bellaire, Ohio, died Thursday evening in the Crestwood Care Center in Shelby after an extended illness.

Mrs. John was born May 9, 1897, in Beit Miri, Lebanon, the daughter of Gabriel and Marjannee Fadell. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Bellaire.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Emile and Anne John of Shelby; and George and Anne John of Dayton; three daughters and sons-in-law: Mrs. Albert (Isabel) Kalil of Shadyside, Mrs. Julius (Josephine) Hader of Stow, and Mrs. Nellie Keyser of Bellaire; 18 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph John, in 1962; by one son, Joseff in 1963; by one brother; four sisters, two half-brothers; and one half-sister.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Walter C. Bauchnect and Son Funeral Home, 441 37th St., Bellaire, where wake services will be held at 8 p.m. Funeral mass will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Bellaire. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Bellaire.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church Memorial Fund in Shelby and left at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby, which is in charge of local arrangements.
