Catherine A. (Miller) Metzger

Catherine A. Metzger, age 83, of 105 Martin Drive, Shelby, died Friday afternoon in the Crestwood Care Center after suffering a stroke two weeks ago.

She was born August 13, 1911 in Galion, Ohio the daughter of Frank and Rose (Brown) Miller.

Mrs. Metzger was a homemaker and a member of Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church.

She is survived by 1 daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and Richard Swain of Shelby; 7 sons and 5 daughters-in-law, George J. and Josephine Metzger of Shelby, David J. and Mary Metzger of Shelby, Philip J. Metzger of Mansfield, Francis J. Metzger of Florida, Carl J. Metzger of Florida, Stephen J. and Marie Metzger of Westerville, Martin J. and Cynthia Metzger of Shelby, and Patricia Goebel of Montpelier; 27 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Paul Miller of San Antonio, Texas; 2 sisters, Delores Gubernauth of Bucyrus and Sister Mary Regina Miller S.N.D. of Anderson, Indiana; a special friend, Marg Zody of Lucas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George John Metzger, Sr. in 1980; 1 son, Wilbur J. Metzger; 1 daughter-in-law, Terry Metzger; 1 son-in-law, Robert Stadler and by 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby where the rosary will be recited at 8:30 P.M. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 A.M. at Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church with Father John C. Missler, officiating. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial expressions may be made to the Catholic Charities of Mansfield and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby.
