Carol G. (Arter) Frederick
Carol G. Frederick, age 71, of Shelby, died Monday, April 5, 2010 at the Crestwood Care Center.
She was born, October 31, 1938 in Crestline, Ohio the daughter of the late Kenneth Dale and Rosella Helen (Hook) Arter. She was a 1956 graduate of Shelby High School and a 1957 graduate of Mansfield Beauty School. She was the owner and operator of Carol’s Beauty Shop in Shelby for over 50 years. She was a member of Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church. Carol was a dedicated and devoted mother to her children, especially in meeting the special needs of Kenny and Lorie.
Carol is survived by her children: Jess and Cindy Carey of Shelby, Lorie Carey of Mansfield, Sue Dennis of North Carolina, Steve Carey of California, Kenny Frederick of Mansfield; 2 grandchildren: Christopher Michael Carey and Crystal Diane Carey; great grandson: Xavior Alleyne;
Brother: Charles Arter of Mansfield; the children’s father and her former husband: Leroy Carey of Shelby.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her second husband: Donald Frederick; a brother: Paul Arter; a sister: Mary Brister; son-in-law: Craig Dennis.
Friends may call on Friday, April 9, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM at Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church with Father Nick Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Crestline.
