Carl Griffin Paine
Carl Griffin Paine, age 93, formerly of 98 Park Village, Shelby, died early Sunday morning, October 27, 1996, at Woodlawn Nursing Home in Mansfield after an extended illness. He was born
February 17, 1903 in Ashland County, the son of Walter J. and Ora (Griffin) Paine.
In his earlier years, Mr Paine had worked at the Wilkens Air Force Depot and the Shelby Cycle Co. He retired in 1969 from Shelby Autocall Co. He was also the former owner of Paine’s Music Store on North Gamble Street in Shelby for many years and was a well known piano tuner in the area. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he had been in the choir.
Mr Paine is survived by 1 daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and James Griffeth of Shelby and 1 daughter-in-law, Sally Paine of Strongsville, Ohio; 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Aldon and Leota Paine of Ashland. Nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife C. Marjorie (Ford) Paine in 1995 and by 1 son, Lawrence Paine in 1995.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 6-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby. Funeral service will be on Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Shelby with his pastor, Rev. Jeff Matthews, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
