Carl E. Post

Carl E. Post, age 72, of 17 Park Village, Shelby, died Thursday afternoon in the emergency room at Mansfield General Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was born February 21, 1919 in Shelby, the son of Lenza and Laura (Roth) Post.

Mr. Post retired in 1977 from the Ohio Steel Tube Company and had also farmed. He was a member of the First Church Of God, St. Rt. 39 South, and the Shelby American Legion O’Brien Post #326. He was an Army veteran of WWII where he was the recipient of the purple heart medal.

He is survived by 1 daughter and son-in-law: Judy and Cecil Workman of Shelby; 1 grandson, Scot Workman of Shelby; 1 aunt, Dana Spayde, of Crestline.

He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Zimmerman) Post in 1980; a sister, Ruth Robinson in 1980; and by an infant brother George.

Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Turner Funeral Home where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 A.M. with the Rev. Lloyd Adams officiating. Burial
will be in Oakland Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Shelby American Legion.

Memorials may be made to the First Church Of God and left in care of the funeral home.
