Carl B. Kempf

Carl B. Kempf, age 68, of 527 Bendle Avenue, Shelby, died early this morning in the Crestwood Care Center after a short illness. He was born July 6, 1923 in Shelby, the son of the late George C. and Martha M. (Verhoff) Kempf.

Mr. Kempf retired in 1980 from C.P.C. Mansfield-Ontario Plant. He was a member of Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church, Shelby American Legion O’Brien Post #326, Shelby Country Club Mansfield Liederkranz, AARP, and Fisher Body Retirees. He was an Army veteran of WWII.

Mr. Kempf is survived by his wife Catherine (Kreim) Kempf, whom he married May 22, 1946; 1 son Stephen Kempf at home; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Ed Russell of Shelby; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law: Beda and Charles Phillips and Irma and Vincent Studer both of Shelby; 1 brother and sister-in-law: Edgar and Helen Kempf of Fairborn.

He was preceded in death by a son Eric Kempf in 1971 and by a sister Jeannette Seitz in 1988.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home where the rosary will be recited at 8:30 P.M. Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 A.M. at Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church with his pastor Father John C. Missler officiating. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
