Bobby D. Bowman

Bobby D. Bowman, age 67, of Monroe Ave., Shelby died Friday August 19, 2005, at the home of his daughter, after a long illness.

He was born, January 19, 1938 in Rowan County, Kentucky. He was the owner of Bowman Sanitation in Shelby since 1978, and prior to that, he worked at AMF in Shelby for 30 years. He was a member of the Richland County Coon Hunters Club, where he was a past president. He took pleasure in his daily routine of meeting his friends for coffee each morning at Johnny’s Lunch. Bobby always had fun and liked to make people laugh. He enjoyed his hobbies of fishing, hunting and trap shooting but his greatest love was his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Betty Pauline (Ramey) Bowman, whom he wed on June 16, 1956; a daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Harold Shasky of Shelby; a son, Robert Bowman and his companion, Margie Childress of Shelby; 4 grandchildren and spouses, Kimberly and Cory Lindsey of Shelby, Amanda and Randy Deppen of Mansfield, Robert Bowman and James Bowman of Shelby; 5 great grandchildren, Alliyah, Jade, Makayla, Jacob, and Kaitlyn; his father, Edgar Bowman of Clearfield, KY; a brother and spouse, Billy and Charlotte Bowman of Clearfield, KY; 2 sisters, and spouses, Phyllis and Bill Thompson of Wallenburg, KY and Suzette and Chelmar Snipes of Morehead, KY. He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Riddle Bowman in 2005 and by an infant brother, Harold Bowman.

Friends may call on Sunday, August 21, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will be held on Monday at 3:00 PM with Rev. O. Douglas Tackett, pastor of Taylortown Community Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh.
