Billie Jean (Johnson) Parsons

Billie Jean Parsons, age 66, of 57 Raymond Avenue in Shelby, died Monday morning in Shelby Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. She was born August 25, 1928 in Haywood, West Virginia the daughter of Bernard and Genevieve (Crayton) Johnson.

Mrs. Parsons was a homemaker and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Shelby V.F.W. George Broderick Post #291.

She is survived by 1 daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and John Sichko of Shelby; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Jan Burton of Shelby and Terry and Sandy Starkey of Washington Court House, Ohio; 2 step sons, Harold Parsons, Jr. of Indiana and Russell Parsons of Maryland; 3 step daughters, Gladys Mae Lucas of Marion, Ohio, Marsha Meyer of Indiana and Diana Blair of Shelby; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 nephew; several step grandchildren; her step mother Ivory Johnson of Dayton, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold C. Parsons on March 13, 1985 and by a brother, Bernard Johnson.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby. Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Enterprise, West Virginia.
