Bill F. Markwell
Bill F. Markwell, age 78, of 16 Sunset Drive, Shelby, died Thursday, May 29, 2003 at Med Central Shelby Hospital after a long illness.
He was born April 20, 1925 in Conasauga, Tennessee the son of the late James E. and Martha (Cassitty) Markwell. Bill was a retired civil service employee from the Air Force Aerospace Guidance and Metrology Center in Newark, Ohio. He was also and over-the-road truck driver. He was a member of the First Church of God and was a Marine veteran of WWII.
Bill is survived by his sons and their spouses: Michael L. and Renae Tooker of Shelby, Bobby Lee and Brenda Tooker of North Carolina; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Bert Markwell of Shelby, Raymond Markwell of Clearfield, KY, Henry M. Markwell of Clarksville, TN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Oma Brown Markwell, two weeks ago on May 14, 2003, by 4 brothers, James, Clyde, Arlie, and Allie Markwell and by a sister Goldie Cornett.
Friends may call on Sunday, from 2-4 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30AM with Rev. Tim E. Schrock officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby with military honors. Memorial expressions may be made to the church.
