Betty S. (Whitacre) Fogle

Betty S. Fogle, age 70, of 12 North Long Street, Shelby, died unexpectedly, Saturday, March 14, 1998, at her home.

She was born April 30, 1927 in Wood County, Ohio the daughter of the late, Howard and Dolla L. (Sweebe) Whitacre. Mrs. Fogle was a homemaker and a was a 1945 graduate of Liberty High School. She was a member of the Shelby American Legion Auxiliary Unit #326 where she had served in many offices. She enjoyed bowling, golf and playing cards.

Mrs. Fogle is survived by 3 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, Robert and Sue Fogle of Bucyrus; William and Angelika Fogle of Fairport, New York; and Jay and Kim Fogle of Shelby; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Larry Stacklin of Shelby; 8 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Donald and D.L. Whitacre both of Rudolph, Ohio; 3 sisters, Marilyn Taberski of Parachute, Colorado; Winifred Carnicom of Fostoria; and Geraldine Loraine of Huber Heights, Ohio; a special friend, Paul Reese of Shelby. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Jack Fogle in 1992, 1 brother, Wayne Whitacre and a sister , Roberta Boxley.

Calling hours will be on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Matthews, pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial in Oakland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
