Betty J. (Viets) Noland

Betty J. Noland, age 74, of 3578 Rock Road, Shelby, died Sunday evening October 14, 2001 at Med Central Mansfield Hospital after a sudden illness.

Mrs. Noland was born January 6, 1927 in Willard Ohio. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Mansfield and had been a volunteer at Shelby Hospital for many years. She was a lover of animals and enjoyed the companionship of of her dog Beans and her cats, Bingo and Peach.

Mrs. Noland was a devoted mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her father, Theodore Viets of Mansfield; a son, Lloyd Noland of Shelby; 4 daughters and sons-in-law: Sandra and Robert Lucius of Shelby, Gretchen and William Robertson of Shelby, Irene and Lawrence Sheridan of Shelby, and Eileen and Paul Evans of Fremont; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law: Barbara and Donald Ute of Mansfield, and Dorothy Grider of Louisville, KY.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred (Sell) Viets; her husband, Bazil Lloyd Noland in 1982; and a sister, Jean Fulton.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 AM at the First Assembly of God Church on McPhearson Street in Mansfield with Rev. Thomas Blair officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Memorial expressions may be made to the Richland County Humane Society.
