Betty J. (Swisher) Westcott

Betty J. Westcott, age 66, of 4364 Weidner Road Shelby, died Saturday afternoon in Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida after a short illness. She was born September 14, 1921 in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of Otto H. and Edna E. (Ziegler) Swisher.

Mrs. Westcott is survived by her husband, Melvin L. Westcott, Sr., whom she married on November 8, 1941; 1 son, Melvin L. Westcott, Jr. of Ankara, Turkey; 1 daughter, Mrs. Robert (Sally) Schiemann of Milford, Michigan. 3 grandchildren: Kimberly Sue Schiemann, Bryan Lloyd Westcott, and Jill Michelle Westcott; 1 sister, Mrs. Eugene (Virginia) Jeffers of Shelby; 1 brother, Dawson Swisher of Shelby.

Mrs. Westcott was a former employee of the Shelby Spring Hinge Co. and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Shelby.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 at the Turner Funeral Home with her pastor the
Rev. Carl G. Beighley, officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Friends may call on Wednesday at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and left at the funeral home.
