Berton Walter “Bert” Lorentz
Berton Walter Bert Lorentz, age 83, of Shelby, died Monday, September 6, 2010 at Med Central Shelby Hospital.
Bert was born June 9, 1927 in Mansfield and was a 1945 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. He retired from Shelby Business Forms/GAF as a data processing manager. He was a member of First Lutheran Church. He was an avid Shelby Whippet supporter and was a regular visitor with his friends to McDonalds.
He was a devoted father and grandfather to son: Chuck and Letha Lorentz of Nashville, TN; daughter: Jean Ann Blake of Nashport, OH; Grandchildren: Tayler Blake, Kevin Blake, Russell Lorentz, Nick Lorentz, and Carmen Lorentz. Also surviving are: brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Roger and Katie Adam of Shelby and Geraldine Adam of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his wife: Nellie Jean (Adam) Lorentz in 2002 and by sisters: Clara and Delores.
Friends may call on Thursday, September 9, 2010 from 10-11 AM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby where funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM.
