Bertha Sylvia (Weber) Rigg

Bertha Sylvia Rigg, age 100, of 618 Broadway Street, Fostoria, and formerly of Shelby, died Saturday, December 6, 1997, at St. Catherine Care Center in Fostoria.

She was born December 14, 1896 in Jackson Township, Richland County, Ohio the daughter of George and Katherine (Bihler) Weber. She was a retired employee of Shelby Business Forms Co., having served 34 years. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fostoria and was formerly a member of First Lutheran Church in Shelby, and Navy Mothers Club.

Mrs. Rigg is survived by 1 daughter, Helen Smith of Fostoria; 1 son and 2 daughters-in-law, George and Ruby Rigg of Shelby, and Joanne Rigg of Mansfield; 10 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Delbert Rigg and by 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Calling hours will be on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m with Rev. Richard Hofmann, pastor of Hope Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial in Little London Cemetery. Memorials to the American Heart Association.
