Bertha Marie (Alt) Weaver
Bertha Marie Weaver, age 73, of 3867 Funk Road, Shelby, died Wednesday, August 2, 2000 at the Heritage Care Center in Shelby after a battle with leukemia.
Mrs. Weaver was born August 14, 1926 in North Auburn, Ohio, the daughter of Clement and Blanche (Sutter) Alt. She was a 1944 graduate of New Washington High School and a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a homemaker and loved her family. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, and bingo.
She is survived by her husband, Francis Weaver, whom she wed on June 21,1947; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Linda J. and Larry E. Millenbaugh of New Washington; 5 sons and 3 daughters-in-law: Charles E. and Barbara E. Weaver of Mansfield, Eugene F. Weaver of Shelby, Richard J. and
Kathy Weaver of Mansfield, Patrick C. and Sandra Weaver of Galion, Gary T. Weaver of Shelby; 12 grandchildren; 3 great granddaughters; 4 sisters and 3 brothers-in-law: Rosemary Baker of Fostoria, Ann and Edward Studer, and Alice and George Willman all of Shelby, Joan and Thomas Rospert of Norwalk; 1 brother, Father Clement Alt, CPPS of Rockford, OH; 2 sisters-in-law: Pauline Alt of New Washington and Alice Alt of Willard.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Francis, Urban, and Edmond Alt and a brother-in-law, Gerald Baker.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street in Shelby, where the rosary will be recited at 8PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated on Saturday at 10AM at Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church in Shelby with her nephew, Bishop Robert Baker, her brother, Father Clement Alt, CPPS and Father John C. Missler officiating. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Campaign 2000 and Beyond at the church or Hospice of North Central Ohio.
