Bertha (Laubie) Hoehn

BERTHA B. LAUBIE HOEHN, AGE 89, OF 81 Raymond Avenue, Shelby, died Monday, October 4, 1999 in the Crestwood Care Center after a short illness.

She was born July 8, 1910 in Shelby, the daughter of the late William and Laura (Gabriel) Laubie. Mrs. Hoehn was a 1928 graduate of Shelby High School and was a homemaker.

On April 11, 1942 she married Philip Hoehn. She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society, a Charter member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary Council #1968, and was a former member of the Daughters of Isabella.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Louise and Gary Herman of Shelby; 4 grandchildren and spouse: Julie and Matthew Gabrovic of Apopka, FL; Laura Herman of Cincinnati; Gary Herman, Jr. of Orlando, FL; and Scott Herman of Shelby; 2 great grandchildren: Grace and Amelia Gabrovic.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip on August 31, 1982; a brother, Fred Laubie; and a sister, Helen Laubie Southard.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until 10:15 AM at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Church with Father John C. Missler officiating. Burial will be in Most Pure Heart Of Mary Catholic Cemetery. Memorial expressions may be made to the Toledo Diocese Teens Encounter Christ, 195 Rosewood #34, Defiance, Ohio 43512.
