Bana H. “Boots” (Holland) Banks
Bana H. “Boots” Banks, 65, of 57 Vernon Road died Tuesday morning at Shelby Memorial Hospital.
Born March 30, 1922, in Scranton, KY to the late Newton and Sallie (Rice) Holland, Mrs. Banks worked for the Shelby Gum Co. and The Coffee Shop. She was a member of the Tiro United Baptist Church, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Moose Lodge Auxiliary of Shelby.
Surviving are her husband, James, whom she married April 26, 1951; a son, Archie Sorrell of Ashland; two daughters: Ann Blaylock of Dayton and Mrs. Roger (Dorothy) Speece of Las Vegas, NV; three brothers: William Holland of Mt. Sterling, KY, Courtney Holland of Frenchburg, KY, and Nesbitt Holland of Owensville, KY; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Ingram.
Services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Turner Funeral Home by the Rev. S.T. Adkins. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
