Arthur P. Baker
Arthur P. Baker, 70, of Myers Road died Sunday morning at Mansfield General Hospital after a short illness.
He was born April 29, 1917, in Wellington, and had been a Shelby resident for 28 years. He was a life underwriter for the New York Life Insurance Co. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Shelby American Legion Post 326 and Shelby VFW Post 291.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Weber Baker, whom he married June 23, 1940; one son, John of Shelby; one daughter, Mrs. James (Jane) Brown of Columbus; one grandson; one brother, Ceilan of Watertown, WI; and one sister, Mrs. Frank (Lucille) Galatin.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home. There will be no services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Shelby Memorial Hospital and left at the funeral home.
