Arthur Lee “Tarcy” Perry

Arthur Lee “Tarcy” Perry, age 56, of 40 Jenner Avenue, Shelby, died Friday, July 30, 1999 at his home after an extended illness.

Mr. Perry was born March 9, 1943 in Lewis County, Kentucky, the son of Robert and Sena (Nolan) Perry. He worked for 18 years for Richland Brick in Mansfield and retired as a custodian from Mansfield City Schools in 1997. He attended the Stiving Road Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He was an Army veteran.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Sena May and Max Gurik of Shelby; a son: Daniel Lee Perry of Shelby; 2 grandsons: Cody and Chance Gurik; 3 brothers and spouses: Theodore “Pete” Perry of Lewis County, KY; Louie and Brenda Perry of Mansfield; and Rev. Monty “Chummy” and Christine Perry of Shelby; 2 sisters and spouse: Juanita Floro of Mansfield, and Anita and Roy Wells of Carter County, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ella May (Rapier) Perry in 1997; 2 brothers: Austie and Mayo Perry; and 2 sisters: Nellie and Maxine Perry.

Calling hours will be on Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. with Earl Tackett officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby. Military Honors will be conducted by the Joint Veterans Council.
