Arleen G. (Hunter) Swartz
Arleen G. (Hunter) Swartz, age 81, of 2495 Kaster Road, Shiloh, died Friday, January 3, 1997 in Mercy Hospital in Willard. She had been in failing health the past 2 years. She was born July 31, 1915 in Bloomingrove Township, Richland County, Ohio the daughter of James Irwin and Mina (Latimer) Hunter.
Mrs. Swartz was a 1933 graduate of Greenwich High School. She and her husband owned Swartz Potato Farm near Shiloh for many years. She attended the First Presbyterian Church in Plymouth. She was active in the Plymouth Historical Society and the Clay Memorial Lutheran Church Womens Society. She enjoyed playing cards.
She is survived by her husband, John F. Swartz, whom she married on August 16, 1936; 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, Dave and Jean Swartz of Shiloh, Ohio; Duane Swartz of Fremont, Missouri; Dan and Jaroon Swartz of Humpty Do Northwest Territory Australia; Dennis and Peggy Swartz of Buda, Texas; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Damaris and Michael Rose of Ontario, Ohio; 6 grandchildren, James Swartz, Thomas Swartz, Richard Swartz, Betsy Swartz, Damon Clemans and Dirwin Clemans; 7 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Wayne Hunter of Greenwich, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Plymouth with Rev. Robert Nagy, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh.
Memorial expressions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund and left in care of the Turner Funeral Home.
